Session Guide (Help)
A complete Session Guide is included below. In the event you need additional help with Global Coherence Initiative, you can e-mail us at: .
We would also love to hear your feedback or suggestions on how we can improve Global Coherence Initiative. Please send your suggestions to: .
Thank you for your participation.
This is the first page, and it displays a custom version of Google Earth. If you do not have this installed on your computer, you will be prompted to download the browser plug-in version of Google Earth. It is strongly recommended that you use the latest version of Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Firefox. Note: The Safari browser will not display Google Earth.
The load time will vary, but allow for 10 to 30 seconds for relatively fast connections and a minute or two for slow-to-average connections.
The Waiting Room is the section of Global Coherence Initiative that provides people with a place to congregate before Care Focus sessions begin. You will notice a countdown clock that we use to synchronize participants so they can begin the Care Focus session simultaneously. The actual Care Focus session occurs in the Session Room, which you will click to when the countdown clock is at 00:00:00 or displays: Session in progress. There are three sessions each day one every eight hours but users may come into the Session Room at any other time to participate in a Care Focus session. Join a synchronized group session by starting your session at one of the designated times: 4 a.m., 12 p.m., and 8 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (GMT minus 7 hours).Â
The approximate location of your geomarker: Each participant in the room will be identified on the globe with a geomarker indicating his or her approximate location. Your geomarker will be green. After you leave a comment, your marker will have a red C in the middle of it. Other participants in the room are shown indicated by gold markers.
Note: We use IP addresses to determine your approximate location. It is not a perfect technology, and some participants may find their addresses off by 10 or even 50 miles. It depends on where your ISP (Internet service provider) is located. If you wish your geomarker to show a more accurate location, go to My Account/Edit Profile and add your zip code, city and country.
The Care Focus event has an orange-colored geomarker on the globe. Click on any geomarker to see additional information about the event, or even to read comments participants may have left. If there is more than one participant in any location, you will see the following symbol when you scroll over the geomarker:
When the cross-arrow symbol is displayed, right-click it and all of the geomarkers for that location will be displayed. You may then left-click on any of the markers to see additional information.
The Session Room is where the group Care Focus occurs. The globe remains in this room, but it is slightly smaller to accommodate the audio and session text panel. If you prefer, you can simply listen to the audio by clicking on the music player on the upper left, or read the text. If you prefer to use a different technique, that’s perfectly fine: Use your heart’s guidance to choose how you want to express care and compassion.
Special Events: From time to time the Global Coherence Initiative will host special events. You will find a link to a description of the event at the bottom of the Session Room page, as well as an audio player.
When the session is over, click on the Leave Comment tab.
If you have an emWave®, we recommend you use it during the Care Focus sessions to track your coherence and improve your effectiveness.
*Audio note: From time-to-time we will included musical selections in the session room. Music assists some people with their Care Focus or can hinder it for others. Its a personal preference. Music is not required for your Care Focus to be effective. Its mostly our genuine heartfelt alignment that creates coherence and effectiveness.
Some find it effective to spend half the time with music and the rest in silence, while others choose to have no music at all. You can pause the audio at any time. Because participants from around the world have varying musical tastes, it would be impossible for us to suit everyone. Members who prefer other music during their session will be responsible for providing it with their iPods, computers, etc.
Leave Comment Room
The Leave Comment room provides the stats from the session and displays the total number of participants for all previous sessions. You can also write a comment, which will be displayed in the Read Comments room.
Read Comments Room
The Read Comments room displays all of the comments from the participants of a particular session. The comments will be displayed in the order they are submitted and will be refreshed automatically, with new ones being displayed as they arrive.
The Events room displays current and upcoming events for the Care Room in which you have registered. In addition, you will see a list of other Global Care Network Organizations. Click on their names to learn more about them, including their current or upcoming events. Clicking on these organizations’ events will allow you to visit their Global Care Rooms without registering or logging on.

Troubleshooting Audio/Video Issues
The globe doesn’t appear on screen.
- If you don’t see the globe, please go to the Google Earth Help desk at http://earth.google.com/support/?hl=en.
- Safari does not support the Google Earth plug-in. Please choose another browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer.
- If you are using an older Mac operating system without an Intel chip, the globe will not appear on the screen.
It takes a very long time for the globe to load.
This is likely due to a slow connection issue. The globe and associated database is a large file, but once downloaded the first time, it will load faster subsequently.
How do I play the audio file?
In the Session Room, click the play/pause control located at far left of the audio player. Make sure the volume level on the player is set high enough to hear, and that your computer speakers are turned on.
